Dr. Amy Franklin is a 2001 graduate of the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine, where she concentrated in large animal medicine. After graduation she moved to Delaware and has been practicing large animal veterinary medicine for over 20 years. During that time, she has served the pleasure horse and cow communities and has expanded into racehorse work over the years. She also works occasional shifts at the Delmarva Animal Emergency Center, where she practices small animal emergency medicine, and has done lasix work at Delaware Park.

Dr. Franklin is a member of the American Veterinary Medicine Association, the Delaware Veterinary Medicine Association (where she has served as the Kent County Representative), and the Northeast Association of Equine Practitioners. She also has served on the board of the Center for Therapeutic & Educational Riding and the Board of Trustees at Connection Community Church in Middletown, DE.

Dr. Franklin lives just outside of Kenton, DE with her husband, two children, two horses, three dogs, five cats, and a goat. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family and animals, riding her horses, and reading.
